Suspension
It is not just important to absorb bumps and make a nice ride; on an open wheel car, it is nice to see the details.
Faith is our Spiritual Suspension
There is always evidence of true faith, but its looks can be deceiving. So aside from the cosmetic aspect of faith, our faith, or “what we believe,” can help us with the rough road that life hurls at us.
For example, Rom 8:28 says:
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.”
Promises in scripture act a lot like suspension, more or less.
Sure, faith helps us handle bumps and potholes, but it can also act as a seat belt and a grab bar (chicken bar). And even more than any suspension could ever do; it can even fill in potholes and make a road where there is NO road.
Faith can illustrate the road we are on, similar to the way our lights do.
“Thy world is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105 KJV
Just understanding why the road is bumpy, or knowing that help is near, even when you can’t see it, is super helpful.
So…from now on, when you think about suspension, think about whether what you believe will do all that true faith is Jesus will do.
